Meet The Teacher

I'm Carolyn Starks, founder of the Virtual Piano Academy and a dedicated piano teacher with more than 40 years of experience in school classrooms and private studios. Over the years, I've guided students from their very first notes to confident recitals, watching them grow in skill, discipline, and self-confidence.

After retiring from 34 years of teaching music in schools, I found new joy in focusing on one-on-one piano instruction. During the pandemic, virtual lessons became essential, and I discovered how powerful online teaching could be. Today, I work with students across the U.S. and abroad, combining traditional techniques with the flexibility of modern technology.

Whether you're a beginner at age 7, a motivated teen, or an adult rediscovering music later in life, my goal is to help you succeed with patience, encouragement, and structure.
